Scope of service

SimpleAML, provided by Click Seed Pty Ltd (ABN 87 656 256 567), is a compliance assistance tool designed to record customer due diligence (CDD) and other AML/CTF checks. It is intended to support firms in managing their AML/CTF obligations under Australian law.

SimpleAML is a compliance register. It helps you record that AML/CTF checks and assessments were completed, and where supporting evidence is kept. It is not a document management system, vault, archive, or hosted document repository.

02

Not legal or professional advice

The information and guidance provided by SimpleAML:

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that they:

Important: If you are unsure about your AML/CTF obligations, seek independent legal advice from a qualified Australian lawyer with expertise in financial crime compliance.

03

Evidence and document management

SimpleAML is a compliance register only. It helps you record that checks and assessments have occurred, and where supporting evidence is kept.

SimpleAML stores records locally in your browser on your device. It does not currently provide multi-user cloud sync. You should export and back up your records regularly.

SimpleAML does not store, hold, encrypt, or manage original compliance documents, identity verification records, or other source materials.

The collection, maintenance, secure storage, and protection of all underlying evidence — including identification documents, screening records, and AML/CTF program documents — is the sole responsibility of the user and their firm.

Best for sole practitioners and small firms. SimpleAML is most suitable for sole practitioners and smaller firms where one person mainly manages AML/CTF compliance.

Your obligations as the user: You are responsible for securely storing all underlying evidence, keeping records for the required 7-year retention period under the AML/CTF Act, protecting sensitive client documents, and maintaining access to records if staff, browsers, devices, or systems change.

Click Seed Pty Ltd, SimpleAML, and any associated parties accept no responsibility for the loss, theft, unauthorised access, or destruction of documents and source materials held by the user.

04

No AML/CTF role, function or delegation

SimpleAML, Click Seed Pty Ltd, and any associated parties do not perform, assume, or accept any AML/CTF compliance role, function, duty, or responsibility on behalf of any user or firm.

SimpleAML must not be relied upon as:

Use of SimpleAML does not constitute delegation of any AML/CTF obligation under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 or AUSTRAC Rules. All AML/CTF obligations remain solely with the reporting entity and its appointed personnel.
