Staff training is a legal requirement under Tranche 2. Complete an approved AML/CTF course, get your certificate, and upload it directly to SimpleAML.
The obligation
Under the AML/CTF Act, all reporting entities must ensure relevant staff are appropriately trained before providing designated services. It's not optional — it's a condition of enrolment.
AUSTRAC requirement: All staff involved in providing designated services, detecting suspicious matters, or managing AML/CTF compliance must complete training before 1 July 2026 — and annually thereafter. Failure to maintain training records is a breach of your AML/CTF program obligations.
What your training must cover
Your AML/CTF training program must be documented in your policy and cover the following topics for all relevant staff.
